Gig Harbor Real Estate — A fishing village that grew up. Forty minutes from the city, a world away.
About Gig Harbor
Settled in the 1860s by Croatian and Scandinavian fishermen drawn to the natural deepwater inlet, Gig Harbor's working-boat heritage still shapes the waterfront. The first Tacoma Narrows Bridge — "Galloping Gertie" — opened (and famously collapsed) in 1940, putting the Peninsula on the commuter map. The current twin-span bridges keep it fifteen minutes from Tacoma and a different time zone in feel.
