About Pacific

Pacific began as a real-estate play: promoter C. D. Hillman platted "Pacific City" in 1906 along the new Seattle–Tacoma Interurban line, and the town incorporated in 1909. For decades it was White River valley truck-farm country — fruit, vegetables, and flower bulbs shipped north by rail — before postwar ranches and 1990s cul-de-sacs filled in the grid. The city straddles the King–Pierce county line between Auburn and Sumner, and the river that built its soil still shapes it: after the 2009 floods, Pacific doubled down on levees, and the Right Bank flood-protection project is rebuilding the town's river edge today. For buyers, Pacific is one of King County's last true entry points — modest single-family homes on flat, walkable streets, minutes from two Sounder stations and SR 167, at prices Auburn and Sumner have already left behind.
